# Two Factor Authentication

### What 2FA Is and Why It Matters

Two Factor Authentication adds a second proof that you are you. Your Daisycahin password is the first "factor", and a code from an authenticator app is the second. Even if someone guesses or steals your password, they still cannot get in without that code. Daisychain uses standard authenticator apps for Two Factor Authentication, so you’ll generate a time based one time code from your app each time you sign in.

### Turn on 2FA for your own account

1. Sign in to Daisychain.
2. Click your email address in the top right.
3. Select **Manage MFA**.
4. Follow the setup steps with your preferred authenticator app.

### Check who on your team has 2FA enabled

If you are an admin, you can confirm which of your colleagues have turned it on.

1. Sign in.
2. Go to **Settings > Users**.
3. Look at the MFA status shown next to each user.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://daisychain.gitbook.io/help/settings/two-factor-authentication.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
